The Perfect Events Group Takes Home Best Charity Event at the Australian Event Awards 2024

The Perfect Events Group (PEG) last night took home the prestigious award for Best Charity or Cause-Related Event nationwide at the Australian Event Awards 2024 in Sydney for its work on the Legacy Centenary Torch Relay 2023.

The Legacy Centenary Torch Relay was a monumental achievement that spanned over 55,000km, engaged 1,500 torchbearers, and mobilised 1,000 volunteers, all while raising an astounding $7.5 million to support veterans and their families through Legacy’s incredible work.

 

In awarding the accolade, the judges commented, “the intricacy of what you had to do to put this event together is impressive. How you matched the corporates to families that benefited from Legacy to make it meaningful and real for those involved was very clever.”

Chairman of Legacy Australia, Mr Wayne McNee, said “Legacy would like to congratulate Lily and the team from Perfect Events on their success at the Australian Event Awards, this is thoroughly deserved”.

 

The relay was the brainchild of Perfect Events Group Founder and CEO Liliana Sanelli, who accepted the award last night on behalf of her team.

 

“I’m so humbled and proud to have led my team who worked so hard to realise this very ambitious project which even saw us meet King Charles III in London where we gifted him a Legacy Centenary torch,” she said.

 

“When you consider the many moving parts to this campaign, the years of planning, and the thousands of volunteers, Legatees, sponsors, team members and supporters that came together under this one vision, it is truly inspiring.”

 

Liliana added that The Legacy Centenary Torch Relay 2023 was one of the most meaningful and impactful projects PEG had ever had the honour to create and produce.

 

She went on to thank Legacy Australia, The Australian Defence Force for their continued support, PEG’s operational team past and present, plus corporate sponsors including Defence Health, Lockheed Martin, BAE, Boeing, ADA, Accenture, Europcar, Yarra Trams, and many more.
